What kind of bets can I place?
You can place bets on all kinds of outcomes including:
Your selection has to win the game for your bet to win.
Handicap or pointspread win
Your selection has to win by more than a specified score (or lose by less than a specified score). For example:
|Green Bay Packers||-3.0|
If you select 'Green Bay Packers - 3.0', the Packers must win the game by more than 3 points.
If you select 'Dallas Cowboys + 3.0', the Cowboys must win the game or lose by less than 3 points.
In pointspread (handicap) betting, the price is usually 1.91 (or -110, meaning you win 100 for every 110 you bet). If the game ties on the pointspread, i.e. neither team wins or loses by the specified amount, the bet is cancelled and the stake is returned.
You can bet on the total score in a game being 'over' or 'under' a specified score.
Combination Bet (parlays or accumulators)
You can increase your potential winnings by combining events from any type of sport and any type of outcome into one bet - called a parlay or accumulator (doubles, trebles, etc.). The bet price is calculated by 'accumulating' the individual prices of your selections. All your selections must win for the bet to pay out. For instance, you could place the following three-way combination bet:
|1 Packers +3.0 to beat Cowboys -3.0||Price: 1.91 (-110)|
|2 49'ers V Broncos game total 'over' 36.0||Price: 1.91 (-110)|
|3 New York Yankees to beat Texas Rangers||Price: 1.91 (-110)|
The price for your combination bet would be 6.96 (1.91 x 1.91 x 1.91). In other words, for a $10 bet, your return would be $69.60.
Teaser (football or basketball)
A teaser bet allows you to make a combination bet (parlay) on football or basketball with the pointspread (handicap) adjusted or 'teased' in your favor. In football you can 'tease' the pointspread of your selections by 6, 6.5 or 7 points. In basketball, pointspreads can be moved by 4, 4.5 or 5 points.
|Team||Pointspread||6 point teaser||6.5 point teaser||7 point teaser|
In the example above, if you picked Dallas in a 6 point teaser combination you would get Dallas at +4.0 points instead of -2.0 points. So if Dallas won the game or lost by up to 3 points that part of your teaser bet would win. A 6.5 or a 7 point teaser would give you Dallas at +4.5 and +5.0 respectively. If you picked Washington, you could move their pointspread to +8.0, +8.5 or +9.0.
You must include at least two and a maximum of six games in a teaser.
The tables below indicate the prices for 6, 6.5 and 7 point football teasers and 4, 4.5 and 5 point basketball teasers. When you select a teaser on your bet card, the price for your teaser bet will be indicated on the card.
|6 point teaser||6.5 point teaser||7 point teaser|
|4 point teaser||4.5 point teaser||5 point teaser|
Decimal prices (which include your stake) are in italics.
A tie reduces a teaser by one play (for example a 5-team teaser becomes a 4-team teaser), except on a two team teaser, which becomes a void bet regardless of whether the other selection wins or loses.
How do I place a single bet?
Sports Interaction posts schedules and odds for all events on which betting is available live on this site. You can place a single bet online by clicking your selection to add your selection to your Bet Card. Enter a bet amount on your Bet Card and click on 'Place Bet' to submit your bet. Your bet is recorded instantly and the amount of your bet is automatically deducted from your account. Any winnings are also automatically credited to your account.
How do I place a Combination Bet (parlay or accumulator)?
To combine selections into a parlay or accumulator (doubles, trebles etc.), click each of your selections in turn to add them to your Bet Card. When you have added all the selections you want to include in your Combination Bet, enter a bet amount on your Bet Card and click on 'Place Bet' to submit your bet.
How do I place a teaser bet?
To place a teaser bet, click each of your selections in turn to add them to your Bet Card (your teaser selections must be from football or basketball 'handicap' or 'pointspread' events). On your bet card, click on the type of teaser you want e.g. '7 POINT TEASER' to change your bet to a teaser. When you have added all the selections you want to include in your teaser, enter a bet amount on your Bet Card and click on 'Place Bet' to submit your bet.
What is the minimum amount I can bet?
The minimum bet amount is only $1 (or equivalent amount in other currencies)
Do I pay tax on bets or winnings?
No. Sports Interaction provides a totally tax free betting service.
How do I calculate my winnings?
When you add selections to your Bet Card, the potential payout for your bet is calculated and displayed for you automatically. If you want to understand how this calculation is made, here is how it works:
Sports Interaction displays decimal prices for each outcome in an event. This price includes your bet amount. Your winnings are calculated by simply multiplying your bet amount by the displayed odds. This is the amount you will be paid if the bet wins. For example:
Place a $10 bet at a price of 5.0
Your return would be:
$10 x 5.0 = $50
On US Sports, the equivalent 'cents line' is also displayed. With a 'positive' cents line, which indicates the underdog, for every 100 cents you bet, you receive the amount displayed plus your bet amount. For example:
Place a $10 bet at a cents line of +130 (decimal price of 2.3)
Your return would be:
($10 x 130 cents) + $10 bet amount = $23 (= $10 x 2.3)
With a 'negative' cents line, which indicates the favorite, for every 100 cents you wish to win, you need to bet an amount equivalent to the displayed line. For example:
Place a $12 bet at a cents line of -120 (decimal price of 1.83)
Your return would be:
$10 + $12 bet amount = $22 (= 12 x 1.83)
How do I find out if my bet wins?
If you miss a game you placed a bet on, Sports Interaction makes sure you don't miss the result:
We will notify you by email as soon as a winning bet is credited to your account.
Personal Account Noticeboard
If you can't get to your email, or you don't have your own email address, you can also log into your Sports Interaction account and you will automatically be notified of any winning bets.
