Kevin Vandersmissen Wins 2012 Irish Open

The 2012 Irish Open saw an plethora of poker A-listers in the field of 502. However, it was Kevin Vandersmissen who was the victor – defeating the likes of the world’s biggest poker celebrities including Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Maria Ho, Adam Levy and more.
The €3,200 + €300 event, which was live-streamed over the Internet, saw all the action, including Vandersmissen’s defeat at the final table during heads-up play with Thomas Beer, banking Vandersmissen a cool €420000. In the final hand, Beer had Ac-Kh on the button, raised and was called by Vandersmissen, who had 9d-7c. The flop brought Vandersmissen top pair and a series betting that saw Beer going all-in and sealing the victory for Vandersmissen.
Other notables who banked winnings included Andy Black finished 8th (€32700), Adam Levy 14th (€15400), and Phil Hellmuth 33rd (€9400).
